Like prayer, blessings spoken in faith are powerful. God is delighted to fulfill the blessings spoken in love by men and women of God. Our heavenly Father delights in bringing to pass our blessings that are spoken in faith and align with his good and gracious will.

Are you a habitual person or a spontaneous person?  The apostle Paul had a habit that I want to develop more and more in my life. He said, “Night and day we pray most earnestly that we may see you again and supply what is lacking in your faith.” 

Principles of Leadership Get out of the Way Part 2

We want to be leaders who develop other leaders.  It’s been said that a good test of a leader is what happens when he or she is no longer with the team.  In light of this, think of the Apostle Peter on the day of Pentecost (see Acts 2).  Jesus had ascended to heaven and sent the Holy Spirit to empower His followers.

Peter, who had denied Christ three times just a few days before, now preaches with anointing and power and becomes one of the key leaders of the first century church.  

You Are Standing Firm

Standing firm in Christ is a wonderful experience. It means you don’t bend in the face of temptation, persecution or trials. But what is it that a church planter can do to help his people stand firm in the Lord?

Good News About Faith and Love

Church planting is hard work. Church planters don’t earn great monetary rewards for their work and rarely achieve great fame. But there is a reward for church planters, experienced on earth well before we receive our eternal reward, that is of great value.

Strengthen Those Undergoing Trails

• First, they repeatedly told the new believers that they would be persecuted.
• Second, the church planters spent time with those facing trials and persecution.
• Third, they strengthened and encouraged the faith of the new believers in Thessalonica.

Sometimes when we preach the Gospel, we speak often about the benefits of following Christ. And we should tell about gospel benefits, but we must be truthful and also tell those who consider following Christ that trials will come.

You Are Out Glory and Joy

What motivates church planters to keep going? Is it hope? Love? What keeps them preaching, serving, praying in the face of much opposition?  The apostle Paul was motivated by a foretaste of glory.

Imitators of God’s Churches

None of us likes to suffer. None of us seeks pain.  But suffering is a part of life on this earth. While we can never call suffering good, we recognize that good things can result from suffering.  The classic example that shows that good can come from suffering are the pains of childbirth that a mother suffers.  I have seen and heard that pain. It is intense, excruciating, and overwhelming.  But the beauty of a new life that comes into the world through its mother’s pain is proof positive that good can come from suffering.
