Baptize New Believers Part 2

One of the most powerful ways a church planter proclaims the message of Christ is by preparing new believers for baptism and helping them be baptized. Baptism affirms belief in Christ, forgiveness of sin and unity with Christ. The act of baptism proclaims that believers belong to the Lord Jesus Christ. Today’s podcast is about baptism, and more specifically, the church planter’s role in baptism.

But God

When we were pastoring and probably it is the same with you as a church planter, or minister of the gospel. There were times we would get weary and tired, not of the sharing the truth. It would come from the challenging circumstances and simply living. I would try in my flesh try to force something to happen. I would find myself there when my eyes got off the truth and on circumstances. My flesh would get weary to the point I would wonder “why was I doing this.” This was not a good place for me to be at but it was a great place for God to speak into my life and say “why are you here “

It was then that the next part of Psalms 73:26 had to become real in my heart BUT GOD Wow what a truthful statement BUT GOD

Baptize New Believers Part 1

Today’s podcast is about baptizing new believers. After people repent and believe the Good News, what is the next step?  People who repent and put their trust in Jesus should be baptized.  And who should baptize new believers?  People who are disciples of Jesus.  John 4 tells us,

“Now Jesus learned that the Pharisees had heard that he was gaining and baptizing more disciples than John— although in fact it was not Jesus who baptized, but his disciples.  So he left Judea and went back once more to Galilee.”

Baptism in water shows that the one being baptized has died to sin but has received a new life, a life of doing what is right.

Repent and Believe Part 2

You as a follower of Jesus have good news for idolaters.  The Kingdom of God is near.  God is present with us.  He is ready and willing to forgive and bless all who repent and put their trust in Jesus. He will set us free.  And you have good news for Muslim people as well.  The Kingdom of God is near. Today’s podcast is about believing the Good News of the Kingdom of God.

One Body

This can happen even as Church Planters if we try to do many things on our own and that simply is not healthy for the body of Christ. Paul writes every joint supply and that has to be part of our hearts. God may open ways to partner with many different people and in that is what His body consists of.

One of the most important skills for Village Church planters is the ability to tell Bible stories well. I have good news for you.  You can be a GREAT Bible story Teller.

God chooses those whom He knows will and can walk in humility, diligence, and with courage that comes by the power of the Holy Spirit! As we do this, we bring praises and honor to Him and not to ourselves.

Keep the faith, take up your cross, go and make disciples of all nations! Laying aside negative thoughts, fears, hurts and even frustrations. May I encourage you to spend time in the Lord’s presence plus, feast on His Word, here you will have the strength and power to press on!

Nehemiah Part 1

As we continue to discuss the character traits of good, godly leaders, for the next several messages we will look at Nehemiah.  I find this Old Testament book (and the man for whom it is named) a fantastic study in leadership.
