Multiply

We are beginning a new year, now is an exciting time to set this model before us as we pray and fast, asking our God to lead us to unfamiliar places and people groups. By asking the Holy Spirit to help us learn about them, as we retain knowledge and spiritual insight into their lives. 
This is something we are not to rush; this is a special time to meditate upon God’s Word as He leads and guides. Remember the old missionary from long ago, William Carey who said, “To know the will of God, we need an open Bible and an open map.”

One of the most beautiful blessings that God our heavenly Father has given his children is the power to multiply. The book of Genesis teaches us that multipliction is part of God’s original design for humanity. But Jesus teaches that we are not only to multiply humans, we are to multiply disciples of Jesus. 

One author defines a steward as “someone who manages resources belonging to another person in order to achieve the owner’s objectives.”
“Steward” and “stewardship” are two words that have been on my mind. The Lord will provide the resources needed – people, relationships, strategies, and, yes, finances – and our responsibility is to steward wisely their allocation and use.

Today’s episode of Multiply focuses on the need for resources as a church planter multiplies disciples, leders and churches. Which resources are most important, Buildings, money, prayer, people?

Jesus shares with his disciples that the harvest is abundant, and so they can be encouraged that their effort would not be in vain. I imagine that with these words, it was a great encouragement for them.

The end of one year and the beginning of another give God’s children a wonderful opportunity to reflect, pray, and prepare. As a child of God, I encourage you to pause and do all three. To consider how to do this work of reflection well, guided by the Holy Spirit,

Nehemiah was a great leader and here are a few characteristics in which he lived out.

intercessory prayer, He was courageous as he approached the king, He was also bold. Nehemiah was an inspiring visionary, Nehemiah was confident in the Lord.

What should a servant of God do when he or she feels so very tired? What steps should a follower of Christ take to find energy to keep walking in faith? We need to strengthen ourselves in the Lord.

This is an opportunity where we share about brokenness, and how Jesus came to heal and to save those who are so deeply broken. 

Before we share the Three Circles to others, let’s spend much time in prayer, asking the Lord to lead our thoughts and words. Remember, this is all a work of the Holy Spirit in individual’s hearts, and we are an instrument as we share this hope and truth.

Oh that God would have the opportunity to change lives spiritually and physically. The Lord’s heart is touch and heal the sick and James 5:13-16 encourages that he will use us in this gift. If we ask him of those opportunities he will do the work. Powerful testimonies will be shared because compassion in  the hearts of Jesus’s followers prayed for them and they were healed.
